Changes vital

I am sick to death of the same people over the years, always knocking any development plan that may benefit the commercial heart of Springwood.

Surely we must realise by now, we have an 80 percent, yes 80 percent, customer leakage rate to Penrith and now Winmalee. Springwood is haemorrhaging; if it's not checked you bleed to death, a simple fact of business.

People nowadays want to shop in a controlled environment. We have to face up that we are no longer a village as some would have us believe, but the commercial heart of the Lower Blue Mountains with our banks and building society.

People like to shop out of the rain, heat and wind etc. whilst not having to chase after their children near the road.

If we again miss our chance and ignore the obvious you can bet your life in a year or two Winmalee will add another floor upwards and then Springwood will just end up wall to wall take-aways. Just get on with developing the north and south car parks ASAP.
