Re: the Revitalisation of Springwood (BMG 16.4.08)
I am writing in support of the comments made by Lucinda Terry published in the Gazette of April 16.
I have also recently moved to this area from a busy northern suburb of Sydney.
One of my reasons for making a change: to escape the daily manic suburban rush.
The shopping complex a Winmalee incorporates a more than adequate Coles and numerous other "brand name" franchises that are identical to any Sydney suburban shopping centre. This would seem sufficient in terms of "suburbifying" the Springwood/Winmalee area.
Hopefully more recent Sydney escapees will rally to prevent our dream being negated by a council whose brains trust is in more desperate need of revitalisation than Springwood village.
